About the Artist

I'm Rhiannon Simmonds, the artist behind Green Cottage Felting. I fell in love with needle felting in college, and now share my passion from my home on Vashon Island, Washington.

Growing up as a lifelong islander and the daughter of a fiber artist, I was surrounded by nature and creativity. Although I initially studied Political Science and History at Western Washington University, I quickly realized my heart was in art and switched to Studio Art. In 2021, I discovered needle felting—a meditative, cozy process that captured me instantly. From adorable creatures to hyper-realistic pieces, I was hooked!

I started my first small business, Epona Felts, in late 2021 and grew it through annual shows and constant learning. After graduating in 2024, I launched Green Cottage Felting with the goal of sharing this joyful craft with crafters of all levels.
